Student Missions

Each year, our students have the opportunity to serve on mission locally and beyond.

Local: Camp Chainbridge Summer Mission

Camp Chainbridge is a Day Camp filled with fun, crafts, and games for elementary school ESOL students. We run the camp for one week at Madison High School in late June or Early July, partnering with CCV’s Spanish Ministry to serve our immigrant community and their families. This is a great entry-level mission opportunity for middle school and high school students.

National: Welch, West Virginia Summer Mission

In 2023, CCV committed to a long-term mission relationship (over the next 10 years) with our faithful friends in Welch, West Virginia and the many ways in which they are sharing the Gospel and love of Christ in McDowell County—a rural community that has suffered loss and is often overlooked and underserved. Every other summer, our Student Mission Team serves in Welch for one week alongside local community and ministry partners there, and with our friends from our sister churches in Chile. We share the Gospel through practical service, evangelism, sports and medical care

Chile Summer Mission

CCV has a long relationship with churches in Santiago, Chile, and we serve together in missions every July. Every other year, CCV sends a team of students and leaders to serve alongside our friends in Chile, helping with their two weeks of Winter Break Mission Outreach and sharing the gospel through sports camps, conversations, and practical help. Much of the ministry takes place in Santiago, but sometimes the second week we head south to the lakes region as well. On the off years, we host a team of students and leaders from the Chilean churches to serve with us here in Vienna and in Welch, West Virginia.

Winter Work Crew

Every winter break, between Christmas and New Years, our High School and College students serve in the kitchen at Rockbridge Alum Springs during Open Door Presbyterian Church’s Winter Student Retreat. Working under the direction of three full-time Kitchen Staff at the camp, our students prepare, cook, serve, and clean up for all the meals. Winter Work Crew tends to fill up fast, so sign ups are not always listed publicly.
