We have fun and we take discipleship seriously.
CCV’s Student Ministry seeks to help young people come to know the love and grace of Jesus Christ and develop a healthy, mature faith so they can be anchored in Him and to the wider community of believers. We want our Student Ministry to be a place where students can grow deep friendships and also learn to be externally focused: welcoming others and reaching out in service.
We have weekly gatherings for Middle School and High School. On Sunday mornings, students stay in the service as we want to engage them in the life of the whole church.
Middle School & High School
Middle School: 6th-8th Grade
Middle School Youth Group meets most Sunday afternoons from 4:00-6:00pm and consists of large group games, teaching, and discussions in small groups. Occasionally we host a Middle School Breakfast on Sunday morning (during the sermon and prayers portion of CCV’s service) instead of meeting in the afternoon. Our Middle School Student Ministry is assisted by trained, faithful, and trustworthy high school student leaders and overseen by adult leaders and staff. During the summer, the Middle School group is run by our wonderful College Interns.
High School: 9th-12th Grade
High School Youth Group, BEYOND, meets most Monday Nights from 7:30-9:00pm. We gather to connect and hang out, worship, study the Word of God, share and pray together. Our High School Ministry is supported by adult volunteers who are excited to walk alongside our students and their friends, and share the hope of Christ in the context of our community. Besides BEYOND, we also have high school small groups that meet at other times during the week, divided into separate groups for guys and girls and by grade.

Our annual retreat for Middle Schoolers at Rockbridge! This is a great weekend away with your friends: challenging talks about God, worship, ridiculous skits, crazy games, great food, high adventure activities, plenty of free time to hang out, and so much more.

Cornhole Tournament
Every fall we have a Cornhole Tournament with competitive and social brackets. Teams dress up in costumes. There are prizes. It's a great time!
Barn Bash
Barn Bash is a night for High School students, full of live music, line dancing, a bonfire and more!
Christmas Parties
We always have Christmas parties for both Middle School and High School ministry, including a gingerbread house building competition!
Annual Summer Missions
Each summer, our students have the opportunity to serve in our local community or further away!
Local: Camp Chainbridge Summer Mission
Day Camp for local elementary school ESOL students, held locally at Madison High School.
National: Welch, WV Summer Mission
Sharing the Gospel through practical service, evangelism, sports and medical care in Welch, West Virginia.
International: Chile Summer Mission
Serving with our sister churches in Santiago, Chile for two weeks of mission outreach. Every other year we go to Chile or hosting them here.
Annual Retreats
We have annual retreats for both Middle and High School, called BREAKAWAY, held at YoungLife’s Rockbridge Alum Springs Camp in Goshen, VA.
These unforgettable weekends are a chance for students to get away with their friends and get a break from the stress of life in Northern Virginia. Students deepen their faith through worship and challenging talks about God, have fun playing games and trying adventure activities, and get plenty of free time to rest and hang out with friends.
