SERIES | Loving the unLovable

(Acts 28) The disciples ask Jesus if he is about to restore the Kingdom. Jesus response is, you are my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout all of Palestine, to the ends of the earth. In Acts the gospel spreads through the known world. By the end Paul is imprisoned in Rome, the seat of Ruling authority and the very heart of the Roman empire–and he preaches the gospel. But the end of Acts 28 begs us to ask, what next. What next is that God is writing Acts 29 in our lives.

(Acts 17:16-31) Everyone is religious, everyone is seeking something and everyone makes something the controlling center of their life. Apart from God, we are all idolaters. When we make good things ultimate things in our life we end up worshipping and serving them instead of God. The only way to unseat a false god is with a deeper love & worship of the one true God–we need to turn to Jesus as our source of hope and life and salvation.

(Part 4 in a 6 part series Contagious)

(Acts 10) Is God’s mercy too wide? Does it sometimes feel that God will have mercy on anyone, even the undeserving? This is the case with cornelius the Gentile and Roman Soldier–he was far outside of the people of God. But God in his mercy sent Peter to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to Cornelius because with the gospel, no one is outside of the realm of God’s mercy.
