After learning about our generous God, we learn how to demonstrate both generosity and humility in our own lives. Johnny walks through the value of humility and generosity, our natural desire for glory with God, and how real generosity can ultimately be achieved.

Paul’s climactic hymn in his letter to the Philippians calls them to a life of other-centeredness–of humility and generosity. To live out their gospel identity and approach one another as Jesus did: not using his power for his own advantage, but emptying himself in obedience to the Father and for the good of the world.

Philippians 4:4-13 In a world of Anxiousness, Paul points to prayer, Christ-mindedness and trust in God to find peace and contentment in all circumstances.

Philippians 1 Imprisoned and facing an uncertain future, even death, Paul is unfazed: To live is Christ, to die is gain. He is fear-less. What is at the root of this boldness and how could it transform our own lives?

In view of God’s mercies–all that He has done for us in Jesus Christ–how are we to live? Paul says the response to God’s mercy is to offer ourselves fully to God in worship and to offer ourselves fully to one another in love and service.
