Carrying on John’s continued chorus of the importance of love for one another echoed throughout his biblical writings, 2 John also emphasizes the importance of truth. Matt explores truth and the two ways you can know somebody- knowing about them and knowing them. For a Christian, both are important, but many may stop at just knowing about Jesus instead of “Walking in Truth” WITH Him.

Pastor Dean walks through 1 John 5 as a guide on how Jesus calls us to authentic faith. Truly believing in who Jesus is and what he did for us changes our hearts, and should inspire us to live “all-in” with God.

We are called to love one another in 1 John. But to do so, we must first come to know and believe–to abide in–God’s love for us. Love is defined by what God has done for us in Jesus Christ and his atoning death for our sins; this is the gospel. We need gospel, and the greatness of God’s love, to push deep into our hearts and our lives.
