(Acts 28) The disciples ask Jesus if he is about to restore the Kingdom. Jesus response is, you are my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout all of Palestine, to the ends of the earth. In Acts the gospel spreads through the known world. By the end Paul is imprisoned in Rome, the seat of Ruling authority and the very heart of the Roman empire–and he preaches the gospel. (Acts 10) Is God’s mercy too wide? Does it sometimes feel that God will have mercy on anyone, even the undeserving? But God in his mercy sent Peter to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to Cornelius because with the gospel, no one is outside of the realm of God’s mercy.

And yet, he was not too far gone, no one is.
